About Sarah R. Watchko, Esq.

Watchko (2)

I am an estate planning and elder law attorney practicing in Atlanta, Georgia.

Following my graduation from Wake Forest University School of Law, I worked for the Atlanta Legal Aid Society’s Georgia Senior Legal Hotline and for the Law Office of Stephen H. DeBaun, P.C.  In 2009, I transitioned to full time private practice with the law firm.   In August of 2013, I joined Bettis, Hill & Vann, LLC, a boutique estate planning and elder law firm located in Alpharetta, Georgia.

My major practice areas include estate planning with wills, trusts, powers of attorney and advance directives for healthcare;  probate and trust administration; guardianship and conservatorship of incapacitated adults; and planning for long term care with Medicaid and Veterans Administration benefits.

I am a member of the State Bar of Georgia and am accredited by the Veterans Administration. I am also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers, the Atlanta Bar Association’s Estate Planning and Probate Section, and served as Chair of the Atlanta Bar Association’s Elder Law Section for the 2012-2013 year.  My pro bono activities include the Georgia Senior Legal Hotline; DeKalb Volunteer Lawyer Foundation; DeKalb County Probate Information Center; and Fulton County Probate Information Center.

In my free time, I love to spend time with my husband Jeff and our loving mutt Jack.  I also enjoy volunteering with JDRF, the leading fundraiser for Type 1 diabetes research worldwide, where I serve on the Young Leadership Committee.

While my clients come in all ages, I am especially passionate about working with seniors and their families.
